How to join

Member and Fellow Grades

Please complete the online application form and attach a copy of your CV and any other supporting documentation.

Alternatively, you may download a PDF version of the application form.  If you do so, please ensure that you complete the form in full and/or include a copy of your CV and any other supporting documentation when you return your application.

Please ensure that payment is sent with your application and covers the appropriate subscription fee for the Grade of Member or Fellow, together with the registration fee of £10.

All applications for Member and Fellow Grades are placed before the Institute's Grading Panel to ensure that they have appropriate qualifications for the Grade requested.  You will be notified of the Grading Panel's decision normally within 6 weeks of your application.  The decision of this panel on the appropriate Grade is final.

Associate Membership

Please complete the online application form.

Alternatively, you may download a PDF version of the application form. If you do so, please ensure that you complete sections 1 to 3 of the form. 

Please ensure that payment is sent with your application and covers the appropriate subscription fee for the Grade of Associate, together with the registration fee of £10.

You will normally receive an acknowledgement within 2 weeks of receipt of your application

Student Membership

Please complete the online application form.

Alternatively, you may download a PDF version of the application form. If you do so, please ensure that you complete sections 1 to 3 of the form and that your application is sponsored (in section 8 of the form) by the course tutor at your college or university.

Please ensure that payment is sent with your application and covers the appropriate subscription fee for the Grade of Student.  No Registration Fee applies for Student membership.

You will normally receive an acknowledgement within 2 weeks of receipt of your application 


Please note, when existing members apply for regrading, no Registration Fee is chargeable.
