Does anyone have any experience / views on running sales & ops planning (or demand & ops planning) for asset mgt organisations (where the demand comes from asset investment & fault repair)?

No experience, but I would think the forecast would be quite difficult to come by? If you knew the mean time between failure (and the variation) you might be able to estimate based on sales. Alternatively you would have to build it up based on experience.

If you have 'recommended service intervals' then some database of sales date and item details would provide you with forecasts of when services will become due, but depends on what choices your customers have for where they get the work done done.

Do you have a specific problem to solve?

Do you know who the company is? Is it a manufacturer (brand or generic), a wholesaler, a distributor or a contract company? As with any industry, .
