Risk Management Techniques Course

Date of Event Wednesday 24 September 2008
Duration 2 days
Venue Corby, Northants
Details The appetite for taking business risks will clearly vary between organisations, but exposure to some degree of risk is both inevitable and necessary in the search for innovative business solutions. If business risk exposure is inevitable it is therefore essential that management are capable of assessing potential risks facing the organisation and developing appropriate strategies and plans to mitigate risk through elimination, isolation and protection.

The first day covers the development of a business risk policy that is consistent in supporting the overall strategic objectives of the business. This will be followed by a practical case study exercise.

Day Two

This will develop a company risk register based on the case study outcomes. The hands-on theme continues with the development of risk associated KPI’s and associated contingency planning.
Topics covered in this course include:

• Developing a business risk policy
• Risk objectives and targets
• Strategic business risk assessment

• Contingency planning
